In Vitro Antibacterial, Anticancer and Antidiabetic Potential of Freeze-dried Aqueous Borassus flabellifer L. Seed Powder Extract

The Borassus flabellifer fruit which is one of the summer fruits India can be considered a promising therapeutic food as it good source bioactive compounds. aim this study was to evaluate antibacterial, anticancer and antidiabetic activity locally available aqueous freeze-dried seed powder extract flabellifer. Antibacterial evaluated using agar well diffusion assay against gram-positive bacteria (Bacillus subtilis Staphylococcus aureus) gram-negative (Escherichia coli Klebsiella pneumoniae). Anticancer studied 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl-2H-tetrazolium bromide HeLa Vero cells. Antidiabetic sample alpha amylase glucosidase inhibition assays. Results revealed that displayed maximum antibacterial pneumoniae); showed satisfactory cells exhibited potent alpha-amylase alpha-glucosidase inhibitory activity, thus indicating use potential agent for development drugs functional foods.
